nugget launched new app bringing you quotes from the best books in seconds

nugget has launched its informative new iOS and Android app that allows entrepreneurs, CEOs, and working professionals with very little time on their hands to discover new actionable business and personal development books in a matter of moments.

The app’s visual interface displays thought-provoking quotes that have a relevant image in the background to enforce the message – or nuggets – to help the user skim through a book and decide whether or not to buy it. Users can also curate and share their own nugget collections, save their favourite nuggets and browse through thousands of others. Readers use a tinder-like swipe system to browse through the nuggets, which comes with two search modes: Search by book, in which readers see the best 100 nuggets of a book, and Surprise Me! (Random Mode) where users can browse through random nuggets from all the books. If a book is to the user’s taste, they may follow a link to Amazon to download a Kindle version, or order a physical copy.

The idea arose when Founder and CEO Ovi Negrean – also self-titled “Chief nugget”- started collecting ideas and quotes from the business books he read to help him remember the most relevant content. Negrean put the best 30 nuggets from Peter Thiel’s book Zero to One on a slideshare, which happened to be featured on the Slideshare homepage for a time. After receiving thousands of views and lots of interest, Negrean decided to leave his successful career as a country manager of a software company and pursue nugget full-time.

“I like to think of nugget as Instagram meets Goodreads Quotes with a touch of Tinder. nugget has a dual purpose: firstly helping users find the books that really appeal to them, and secondly letting them come back and remember the most actionable and inspirational parts of the books they love,” said Negrean. “We hand pick all our quotes to ensure that each one is insightful and gives the reader a real feel for the book.”

Unlike its competitors, nugget is built for speed. Busy users can find an insight, useful quote and the book it came from in a few seconds. Similar apps on the market only allow users to read book summaries, which are neither quick nor particularly memorable.

“Of course it’s a utility, but one that we feel is constructive, fun to use, and – most importantly – a real time saver for busy people who want to stay on top of their field while giving the readers a chance to try before they buy. People want to self-improve, but they often don’t have the time. nugget is here to help them improve in small bites.” added Negrean.

As nugget will be release before being in the app store, a beta invite is available upon request.
